My favourite subjects are portraits and landscapes, and my artistic interpretation of them is mainly of an impressionistic style. I am a great admirer of Rembrandt and Caravaggio and I love the way they master the chiaroscuro techniques. I have also great respect for the works of Australian artists such as Frederick M'cubbin and Tom Roberts, though the latter was born in England, studied in Melbourne and spent a considerable time of his life in Australia painting those marvellous landscapes. |
